Happy Friday! Welcome to the Iron Made Gym Newsletter. Our goal with this production is to share information with our unique community that will help you reach your goals.
We want to start the conversation with our Iron Made Community of what you see as the future of Iron Made Gym. In a bigger facility what added equipment do you feel would be beneficial? Are there any extra services or features you would like to be added? As we continue to plan for our future, we want to make sure we are tailoring to what you need to succeed! We look forward to reading your comments and hearing from you. “Recognizing that tough love is both the hardest and the most important type of love to give (because it is so rarely welcomed). The greatest gift you can give someone is the power to be successful. Giving people the opportunity to struggle rather than giving them the things they are struggling for will make them stronger.” – from Principles by Ray Dalio This week I was reminded that not only does tough love help lead to the path of success, but tough times also refine us. The times when you feel overwhelmed and stressed are often the biggest opportunities for growth. The question is how will you react, because that is the only thing you can control. Choose to dig in, do the hard work, FOCUS, and when you come out on the other side you can take pride in giving 100% no matter what the outcome. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” When posed with the option of folding or growth through trial, choose growth. Welcome to the Iron Made Gym Newsletter. Our goal with this production is to share information with our unique community that will help you reach your goals. I recently finished the book ‘The Vault A Decade of PR-Shattering Training Tips by Dave Tate’ and I wanted give you a quick look at it. -Select movements based on your weaknesses and skill level -Coaches should strive to make you better than he is -Best coaches are the ones who have attained under the bar knowledge and book knowledge -You can learn attitude -Good mornings are best overall exercise for strength development and should be used 70% of all max effort days -Best max effort exercises for bench press are floor press, board press, close grip bench, JM press, and reverse band press -If you raise your work capacity too fast, you’ll over train. If you reduce it under your current level, you’ll regress. -Do the stuff you suck at -Look at every client first as a puzzle and second as a person because you need to figure out what goes where -Three main steps: education, ability, and action -Ability is taking your philosophy and making it work Dave covers max effort and dynamic days and maps out weeks of workouts for you. The book entails biggest mistakes with the big three lifts, analyzing it, and what to correct. He maps out percentages to use with chains and bands and how to place them in your workout and use correctly. I could go on and on, but in the end you need to read it for yourself and put the system into action. Love to learn! You can find the book here: https://www.elitefts.com/the-vault-a-decade-of-pr-shattering-training-tips-by-dave-tate.html Lastly, my family and I have been out an about in the community for weddings and birthday parties and we received some amazing feedback concerning our mission.
